Summer Solstice Thoughts on the Longest Day of the Year

A happy and joyful summer solstice to all of you. Solstice is the earliest that it has been in over 200 years; and represents a time where it is the longest day of the year. I look at Solstice as a unique time to pause and reflect on where we are in time space; both as a character in the grand cosmic story - and where the greater collective consciousness is at.

I realize I never told you guys about my journey as to how I came to astrology - and so that is going to be what this post will be about; and how that relates to Solstice; as well as the fact you can reach out and book a reading with me.

Sailor Moon and Astrology

I cannot express to you all how important Sailor Moon was to me when I was growing up. The 90s Anime dub that was on YTV after school was the absolute best. And after I watched all of that on repeat - myself, my sister and my best friend Laura used to hit up what we called "The Sailor Moon Store" in downtown Winnipeg. In reality it was a really eclectic Japanese store, where I was able to purchase the Sailor Moon R movie (Japanese subtitles) and Sailor Moon Super S movie. The Sailor Moon R movie still ranks as one of my favorite anime movies - no dub.

When I found astrology, in part to a 8g magical mushroom journey with my shaman husband guide Kevin, it was as if an entire codex to the cosmos cracked open to me. I even created a whole Substack about it called “Welcome to Mushroomland”.

My mind and my soul were blown away.

I always knew that I was a Taurus, but when I discovered that there was so much more than that - the resonance I felt with the intel was astounding... and continues to amaze me every day.

Even more so, I found that in Sailor Moon - that many of the characters; since their powers stem from planetary rulers - that the mythology and stories line up with what astrology has to say in terms of the classification of reality.

The Stories of the Stars

There is a saying in Astrology that we are all of the signs; it is just a matter of what essences and energies will be pronounced within you. I look at it as a way to discover what your super hero identity is, what your soul's purpose is here on the earth.

Bringing this back to Solstice. I find it funny that people will go along with Daylight Savings Time, with the Gregorian Calendar year with the Leap Year every 4 years, Time Zones... but will find the concept of Astrology confounding. I mean, regardless of what you believe the moon is, when it is a full moon - all of us around the planet see that. And in Astrology, we all agree on where that moon is sitting in the sky - and where she is creating angles with the other planets.

You only need to look up in the sky.

Would you know exactly what time or day it was if you did not have a calendar or a watch?

It is why I like to think of Astrology as more of a navigation system in time space. This is as opposed to a belief system.

I save my belief for my fellow human beings and life.
